Purpose
The purpose of the Tallahassee Area Council of Advanced Practice Nurses is to promote the viability, visibility, and unity of nurses engaged in advanced nursing practice. As a result, we are a council of Advanced Practice Nurses concerned with the health and wellness of the people of the State of Florida. In addition, we promote professional advancement of our members.
Goals
- To further develop the Tallahassee Area Council of Advanced Practice Nurses in response to the needs and interests of its members.
- To advocate and promote high standards of advanced nursing practice and research.
- To facilitate the practice of all advanced practice nurses in the state of Florida, including legislative/political activities, marketing, and public relations strategies, communications, network systems and continuing education offerings.
- To promote national, regional, and local visibility of advanced practice nurses.
- To promote the enhancement of professional development and educational opportunities locally.
- To facilitate networking and enhancement of referrals among nurses.
- To create a resource for advanced practice nurses new to our community.
- To improve advocacy for autonomy in our clinical practices.
- To promote new alliances among practitioners, educators, and researchers in our field.
